Choose Counseling
Amaranta Penate-Marty, MS, LPC

Born and raised in El Salvador, I moved to the Untied States more than a decade ago .
I got into counseling because I love helping people, I believe in the power of mind/spirit and the fact that we can all be mentally healthier by learning unconditional acceptance of self, others and the world around us.
As a Professional Counselor, I work helping people with depression, anxiety, grief, substance abuse, behavior and communication strategies with adults, children and adolescents in individual, couples and group therapy settings.
Choose to believe in change!
Counseling is not for everyone, even if in reality we can all use a little help in life. As humans, we accept we need help with any other part of our bodies but to talk about our brains, we instantly think "we are not crazy".
Counseling is not for "sick people", as we learn to walk, we also learn to behave and respond to the people around us and the environment we live in. Some people are able to be taught well, others, we learn from what we see and the experiences we have; that doesn't make us sick or crazy, that just make us have a little bit more trouble to respond to our day by day relationships and tasks.
So therapy is for people that wants to learn how to be mentally happier, to understand why we act or react the way we do and to learn strategies for a better life.
What you will receive in therapy is unconditional acceptance since that is the main point of my philosophy in life.
